Custom Resources

Go to next section

In addition to the pre-built resources available within the LearningStation Insight platform, including question banks, associated passages and rubrics, and default proficiencies, users also have the ability to create custom resources to be used in the assessment process.

Banks

A Bank is just a container, like a folder that allows you to more easily organize and find your resources within the application.  When you create a Bank, you are essentially adding and naming a new folder like you would on your computer’s hard drive.  At the time you create the Bank, you cannot put anything in it.  When you start creating resources, you will select the Bank you’ve created to save the resource in.  Resources include things like test questions, passages, rubrics and tests.

Banks can be shared with other users in your subscription or across your district.  Other users within the platform can use the resources in the Banks that have been shared with them.

Create a New Bank

  • From the Insight home page, click on the New Bank link under Insight Shortcuts

  • Or, select Banks from the Item Creation menu in the top level navigation bar and click on the New Bank link from the Banks home page

  • The New Bank form will display

  • Click in the Title field and type a unique Bank name that will be recognized by your and other users
  • Click in the A brief description field and type a brief description of the Bank
  • Click the These items are for drop down arrow and select one of the following options
    • Only me – this bank and the resources in it will only be visible to the user who creates it
    • My school – this bank and the resources in it will be visible to all of the users in the school subscription in which it was created
    • All of my district – This option is only available to the District Administrator. This bank and the resources in it will be visible to all of the users in the district in which it was created

Tip: Users can save, edit and use resources in Banks they create themselves as well as Banks shared with them by other users.

  • Select the Yes, delete this bank button to delete the bank or select the Cancel button to cancel the action

NOTE: Once a bank is deleted, it cannot be recovered.  Resources that were saved in the bank can only be used for test creation by indicator.  If the resources are not moved to another bank before the bank is deleted, those resources cannot be accessed for editing later.
